Introduction

Question:

What is the reason behind the development of this educational website?

Answer:

  • Educational assessment in grades 3, 6, and 8 show that less than 50 of children in respective grades cannot read and write. This situation includes our children who study in international schools.

Our website is designed to fulfill these shortages by introducing learning tasks and assessment questions according to Bloom Taxonomy.

Question:

What are the features of the website?

Answer:

  • The website has five features that serve the active teaching and learning pedagogy purpose. These are the Learning, Analyzing, Assessing, Homework, and Forum page.

Question:

What is a learning page?

Answer:

On the learning page, teachers utilize learning tasks following Bloom's Taxonomy, progressing from remembering to applying concepts aligned with state textbooks in all subjects.

These tasks are thoughtfully designed to enrich students' learning journey through reading, writing, listening, and viewing activities.

Students engage in repetitive practice of learning content and concepts, transitioning from memory-based activities to independent application in real-life scenarios, while also honing critical thinking skills in accordance with Bloom's Taxonomy.

Bloom's Taxonomy serves as the guiding principle for teachers, enabling them to structure lessons, create instructional materials, deliver effective instruction, and design test questions that shift the focus from textbook content to concept-based learning, emphasizing the development of competencies.

Discover "The Critical Thinking Classroom (2nd 2024)" by Dr. Chhinh Sitha online, where teachers can access valuable resources to read, engage in exercises, test conceptual understanding, and incorporate these insights into their lesson and assessment designs for Khmer, Mathematics, and Science.

Question:

What is an analyzing page?

Answer:

  • The system records and analyzes all the learning activities and each individual student’s learning history.
  • It records the time, duration, type, and number of learning tasks and results.
  • The information stored on our analytical page functions as evidence and helps students and teachers remain informed of all the progress and problems.
  • Teachers use analytical reports in order to analyze the student’s strengths and weaknesses collectively or individually and design differentiated instruction to meet the needs of the learners.
  • Teachers can also use the analytical report for the formative assessment purpose by focusing on the procedures such as duration and number of learning tasks completed over the week or month rather than the achievement.
  • The same information can also be used as data for students to learn to observe and analyze their strengths and weaknesses. It helps them take action accordingly to adjust their learning style and improve their results.
  • The analytical data can be downloaded and used in combination with assessment results by the management in order evaluate the performance of the students and the teachers.

Question:

What is an assessment page?

Answer:

  • Teachers can use lesson tests as formative and summative evaluations. For formative, teachers examine the test items carefully and identify the strengths and weaknesses of the students and adjust the instructional materials and teaching method accordingly.
  • For summative assessment, teachers can take the average or the highest score from each lesson to make a tally with monthly assessment results or semester results.
  • The assessment data can be downloaded and used in combination with analytical data by the management in order evaluate the performance of the students and the teachers.
  • The data on the analytical page manifests the ongoing effort and the data on the assessment page presents the cognitive progress of the student by lesson and subject when the lesson or course is completed.
